The MFRC has been formed to promote, enhance and improve the breeding, exhibiting, judging and welfare of marked fancy rats. We hope to achieve this by:

- Raising the profile of marked fancy rats, both within the wider rat fancy and the general population.
- Encouraging a recognition amongst judges of the intricacies and skill involved in breeding marked rats to standard.
- Furthering the study of the genetics of marked rats.

Membership will be open to all who breed and exhibit marked rats or have a specific interest in these areas or the judging of marked rats. Dumbo and rex marked rats will also be encompassed by the remit of the club.
